Canada's Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Meeting Versus the Dodgers
The outfielder previously helped the Houston Astros claiming the championship in 2017.
Canada's MLB team earned a spot in their initial Fall Classic after 1993 by overcoming the Mariners in the seventh game seven of the ALCS.
Behind 3-1, the star outfielder hit a three-run homer in the seventh frame, leading the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 win in the seven-game series. They will now face the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the current crown, in the upcoming World Series.
"It's incredible for our team, our city, Canada," commented Springer, an integral part of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 World Series. "This is such an incredible feeling."
George Springer has now slugged twenty-three October home runs, making him third in history after Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).
"It's hard to imagine another person anywhere that I'd prefer in that moment other than Springer with his post-season brilliance," said Schneider.
Seattle's team, who had led the early in the series, continue to be the one club yet to make an appearance in a championship series.
Wilson stated "without a doubt that it's painful" following his club's elimination at Toronto's Rogers Centre, but praised their performance in the campaign.
"This is a unique group. It's a shame that we finished on the losing end of the series," he continued.
Toronto secured the championship on their two prior appearances in the early 90s, and are set to host the Dodgers in game one on this Friday.
