The Belarusian player ended the tour with an notable 23-3 Grand Slam match record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.

The twenty-seven-year-old captured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – which included retaining the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.

A Season of Consistency

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also claimed victory at the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she became the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points after Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka finished the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.

She garnered nearly eighty percent of the votes cast by international tennis media.

On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a greater prominence".
