Two Charged Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
